Sometimes it feels like it takes forever getting things done. You start a project in good faith, thinking it will be fished before you know it, but then you forget the law of the universe which clearly states that ALL GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME. When the feeling of never getting anything done strikes with full force it might be a good idea to immediately shift your focus on to what is actually getting done around you (be sure to include things you don’t do yourself).
In my case the list of progress made on ongoing projects in our house and garden this past fortnight, looks like this:

Our carpenter finished painting the stairway leading down to our basement.
A part of project: renewal of the storage area |

We’ve also planned and bought the storage solution for this area.
The result will be presented right after our vacation. |

The broken window in the den in our basement was finally replaced.
Read more about it here. |

We’ve driven a load of garbage to the junkyard. |

The children’s sunflowers have grown quite a bit, see how tall they are now!
A good lesson for the older kids in not getting to attached to things as our toddler pulled up one of the sunflowers the other day… |
In addition to these we have also mowed the lawn, cleaned part of the house (at least it is something!), had some friends over for a barbecue and started packing for our upcoming vacation. Not too bad considering I’ve been down with a nasty summer flue, and both school and daycare is out, eh?
Packing for a Dynamic Family holiday is a challenge in its own worth unless you own a minibus or caravan or bring along a hanger or something. We’re a family of seven with a normal sized car with seven seats when we put up the ones in the luggage compartment. Leaving absolutely no room for our luggage in the car unless you count the space in front of our feet or on our laps. So we travel with the ski-box on the roof and pack most of our belongings there. We each get one soft bag for everything we need for our three week vacation. Then the bags are rolled tightly together and put in the ski-box.

Last summer this was a normal sight to see as the oldest boy got in and out of the car through the back door. |
